Wonderful day spent at the wildlife park

点评：This was such a pleasant surprise! I'm just visiting Lübeck and had no idea what the surrounding area had to offer, so a few friends and I headed to Eekholt Wildpark.
As the name suggests, it's a park (not quite a zoo) where you can walk around and look at animals mostly native to Germany and other parts of Europe. This includes different species of deer, wolves, birds, boars, and sheep, among others. They had a small section for rodents (guinea pigs amd rabbits), an insect house, a chicken coop, sea birds, and a few snakes. There are bird shows and feeding times, but we missed those. I'm sure they're lovely.
There are two paths that take you in a circle, depending on how much time you have: the long route ("große Runde") can take 2.5 hours if you're there with small children and want to see a bit of everything in the park. My friends and I were all adults and walked slowly, and we were still done in 2 hours. The shorter route ("kleine Runde") takes maybe an hour, but you don't get to see everything.
If you have the time, go for the long route! Everything was worth seeing, and I loved the experience.
