点评：I am really proud of the fascinating restoration of the castle. It was really beautiful to pay it a visit and my group enjoyed it a lot. The staff and employees there are professional and friendly. Toilets are modern and clean, and they are needed because it can be windy there. I highly recommend going around the exhibition to learn more about the history of the place, it's connection with Italy and Italian architecture, and to admire the restoration process. The boat returns every 30 minutes, so you can choose to spend 30 minutes or an hour all over the place. The botanic element is vibrant there as well.
Now as a tourguide I will impose some questions and I will answer them .. Does it worth the visit? Absolutely! Is it for everyone? No.
Why? Here we go, as an adult in order to visit this beautiful Italian castle in the middle of the sea you pay 5€ for the boat (the ticket is aller-retour) and a 7€ ticket for the archaeological site itself. So, first you need to ask yourself are you into visiting old castles and are you aware of what to expect?
Are you into knowing more about the history of the region, the Venetian- Ottoman episodes, the Italian architecture, the connection between the Bourtzi and the castle of Palamidi, harbours and defending seaside cities, renovation of architectural heritage, and to get indulged into the secrets that castles offer?
If your answer is yes, then, you will definitely enjoy a beautiful experience. In addition to exquisite panoramic views of the city. It will be a little trip within your trip.
If your answer to the questions is no, then, we don't promise you luna park. Travellers should make some homework to understand what's for them and what is not; in order not to leave a bad review that is not consistent.
