The Real Gem Is Across the Street
泰坦尼克号贝尔法斯特纪念馆的点评
点评：I got to experience Titanic Belfast as part of my Irish Adventure tour run by CIE Tours (you can read my review of the amazing Irish Adventure tour on CIE’s TripAdvisor page). I am so delighted that I got to visit Titanic Belfast.
This ultra-modern museum tells the story of the RMS Titanic, which was built right in Belfast. The building itself is striking and full of interactive exhibits spread across multiple floors. However, during my visit, it was incredibly crowded… so much so that it felt very overwhelming. My travel companion and I ended up moving quickly through all four levels just to get out of the congestion.
That said, one of the most memorable parts of our visit was actually outside the main museum: the Titanic’s tender, SS Nomadic, located in the dry dock across the street. This smaller vessel transported passengers out to the Titanic and has an incredible history of its own. It served as a troop transport during both World Wars and was even used as a bar and nightclub in France at one point. After narrowly avoiding being scrapped multiple times, it has returned to Belfast and is now being carefully restored to its original condition.
While the main museum may be a bit much during peak times, the tender was a fascinating and worthwhile experience. Don’t miss it!
