点评:A full and fascinating day journeying to Gibraltar from Seville. (200 k approx) we went with Naturanda, located via the tourist information services. There were a number of pick ups along the way so the 8.45 departure got us to Gibraltar at 11.30. Going through passport control to the British side was quick but we then had to walk across the airport. A plane was waiting to take off (1.5 mile runway) and we were told to hurry across the tarmac. There was a two hour lunch break in the main square. We walked the 15 minutes to the Trafalgar cemetery where two sailors from the battle of Trafalgar were buried. Next it was a walk to the local tour bus depot for a trip to St Michael’s cave. The journey included magnificent views and of course some macaque monkeys which are famous residents. The caves have a long military history and included a sound and light show. On the return we were held up for 20 minutes as a plane was taking off which added to the quirky journey. That was so much history and so many interesting buildings that Gibraltar deserves a full day.
