Disappointing Staff Interaction During Otherwise Great Show

点评：I visited the Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury to see Mr. Swallow, which was a very funny and enjoyable performance. Unfortunately, the experience was let down by the way I was treated by a member of staff.
About 30 minutes into the show, I moved to a nearby row of empty seats because the two people next to me were talking throughout the performance. A staff member then confronted me quite abruptly, telling me I wasn’t allowed to move seats—even though the entire row I moved to was unoccupied. I explained the reason I moved, but she insisted (based on her own perception) that the people I had sat next to weren’t talking that much. It felt like my experience was being dismissed.
When I asked to speak to a manager, the staff member backed off, though the interaction had already left a bad impression. What added to my frustration was that during the interval, two other patrons moved to the same seats I had, and no one challenged them. It felt like I was singled out unnecessarily, and I couldn’t help but feel that gender bias may have influenced how I was treated.
It’s a shame, because the show and venue itself are lovely, but this kind of inconsistent and confrontational approach from staff really detracts from what should have been an enjoyable evening.
