Terrible State Employee Arbitrarily Closes Park Before Posted Closing Time

点评：The ground sign says the park closes at sunset, but the gatekeeper on site can close it early at an arbitrary point. For reference, at this writing, the sunset is at 8.10P. When we visited in July, it was after 8.30P.
We got there before 8P, well before it was supposed to close, and there was a jerk in a state owned vehicle in the parking lot. It told me I was not allowed to wander around because it wanted to lock the gate at the foot of the mountain as soon as the only group of visitors somewhere inside the park got back to their car. I said “I thought the sign at the entrance says it closes at sunset”. It told me that the sign didn't matter just because it wanted to lock other parks at sunset.
I wanted to check on the trail and look up the mountain and get a better idea how much time I should plan the next day. And the jerk got very agitated because I didn’t leave right away and kept threatening to lock the entrance as soon as the other car left. I may not have enough time to go to the tower on the top before this jerk really locked the entrance but I surely had more than enough time to walk the first 100 yards before the other group showed up, and the state employee wasn’t OK with that either. The other group of visitors never showed up anyway.
I understand that many places are short staffed and opening hours have to be changed. Totally fine. Just POST it at the entrance. It’s a big disappointment to learn that after you make the trip all the way up the mountain. It’s a huge insult when the state employee thinks it owns the state park and can shed its own incompetence and irrationality onto visitors.
