点评：Nitmiluk Gorge, (also known as Katherine Gorge) is a stunning 13 gorge system that meanders around the Katherine River in Nitmiluk National Park. It is well known for its walks, canoeing, swimming, boat trips and Aboriginal rock art.
Firstly you need a pass to enter the National park, but confusingly it is a separate NT parks pass to the one needed to enter Kakadu and Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Parks, as these are managed by Parks Australia under the Australian Government and you can only get the Nitmiluk National Park pass on line from the Parks Australia website and not from the Gorge visitor centre which can be found 30km east of Katherine and is well sign posted from the sealed Gorge Road.
If you intend to swim or canoe then it is imperative to check the specific Nitmiluk Gorge web site as access to and whether it is currently allowed can change with the weather and the season,
One way to view the gorge is by a boat trip along it, which is truly stunning but obviously the most expensive option, but it is probably the best way, especially as there are no lookout points that you can drive to that give you a panoramic view of the gorges.
