It's OK but where's the beef (I mean, where's the legend)?
The Legend of Perm Bear的点评
点评：My wife and I bumped into that Bruin in early August. To be honest, there's nothing really noteworthy about it, it's just one of hallmarks of Perm'. People obviously like it, taking numerous snapshots and selfies, mounting their kids on its back, patting its nose, etc.
As to the legend, the bear is the key and one of the most revered characters of the indigenous people of the area. He goes by as Osh and is the son of Yen, a powerful demiurge. Osh can turn into a man by performing a ritual of rolling over a bear skin, and his only difference from a human being is lack of a thumb on his paws. Osh can be both good and bad but he's wise, and it's a sin to kill him. Some locals also joke that that statue was erected in the heart of Perm' to support the foreigners' belief that Russian cities swarm with bears:)
We saw at least one.
