15 days birding trip with the very best birding guide Kwame
Adventure Birding Tours的点评
点评：When I was looking for a travel agency for Ghana, I would have liked to find something about women travelling alone. Unfortunately, I didn't find much, so I'm happy to share my experiences as a woman travelling alone with Adventure Birding Tours and Kwame Brown as my guide.
Everything went very well, from the initial contact to the travel arrangements and the trip itself. The communication beforehand was always extremely fast and very friendly. Of course I had a lot of questions about the trip in my situation and in general, which Kwame always answered patiently and in detail. He was also very flexible when it came to tour planning. He took over the complete organisation on site and booked everything in advance. I already had a good feeling at that time, which was then confirmed or even exceeded during the trip.
Kwame looked after me very nicely and always took good care of me. As a result, I never felt uncomfortable or insecure. He was always on time and the organisation of the day was great.
I could witness his exceptional birding skills at various locations. We startet the round trip in Accra and subsequently visited a large number of stunning birding places, e.g. Shai Hills, Keta Lagoon, Mole NP, Bobiri Forest, Kakum NP and other wonderful places for birding. Cultural sights like Assin Manso, Elmina Castle etc. or amazing natural sights like Wli Waterfalls, Kintampo Waterfalls, different monkey sanctuaries etc. were also cleverly woven into the tour plan. The whole thing was very varied and never boring.
All in all, we spent 15 days together in the rainy season and we saw hundreds of different bird species. Even though we might not have seen as many birds as in the high season, I didn't find that bad at all. We had great and relaxed sightings (including White-necked Picathartes, African Piculet, Yellow and Black-Casqued Hornbill, Black Dwarf Hornbill, White-throated Blue Swallow, Long–Tailed Hawk etc.), so I would say it is definitely worth it even in June/July! I would definitely have liked to stay longer!!
You can tell that Kwame himself loves birding and always wanted to give me the best sightings. Considerately, he adapted to my needs and pace.
I liked the uncomplicated way of Adventure Birding Tours and Kwame; both in planning the tour in advance and on site.
Kwame is an extremely likeable and trustworthy guide with a huge talent for birding. I hope that many more people will be able to benefit from his extraordinary expertise and experience a journey as beautiful as mine.
Conclusion: A very clear recommendation, because it was awesome. I would do a tour with Adventure Birding Tours and Kwame again anytime - definitely also alone as a woman.
