点评:Planned to visit Kazhugumalai and Chitaraal, could only manage Chitharal.
Went from Tirunelveli to Kuzhithurai by train (2hrs, 6-8AM). Walked 1 Km to Marthandam bus stand. Town bus to Arumanai, stops at Chitharal. Its a 2-3 Km walk/drive from the bus stop to base of the hills. We can try for an auto. Or wait for mini-bus.
From the base its a 1Km uphill walk, has benches every 100m. Small stalls at the base, but no stalls on the walk. The walk way is well marked with cement steps and quite shady with trees. Like any uphill walk it can be tiring for people not used to walking. But the views are worth it.
At 9.30Am on a week day, the place was totaly desolate and I didnt see any other walkers, By 11AM on way back, the entry officers were at the desk at the base.
For the Jain temple we need to walk through a narrow passage btwn rocks and for Bhagvathi temple, its climb above the rocks.
Returning to Marthandam was a challange as buses are infrequent at the hill, and no auto available. I hitched a ride on a 2 wheeler back to bus stop.
Total time for round trip from Marthandam = 3 hours approx
从 Tirunelveli 乘火车前往 Kuzhithurai(2 小时,早上 6-8 点)。
