点评：What a dump the Assembley has become. The once attractive and welcoming venue is now an unpleasant place to be. We haven’t been for a while and we won’t be going again, we weren’t optimistic when we reached the dark and scruffy bar to see redundant pumps signifying a lack of draught beers, only cans being available now. We duly purchased our drinks and headed to the “VIP” area which we had paid extra to access, hoping for comfortable seating, alas after a treacherous journey upstairs in the dark, we found an inadequate number of canteen tables and benches.
Part of the balcony area that I remembered has been screened off and a raucous and annoying noise emanated from behind the screen throughout the concert resulting in several of the “VIP” guests leaving the area to go downstairs to the main audience area. I visited the toilets on the way out and, as expected after experiencing the rest of the venue, they haven’t changed since the venue opened in 2008 and were unclean. What a shame that this lovely building and once attractive and iconic venue has been allowed to decline to such a degree. An altogether disappointing visit, disrespectful to both guests and the acts appearing.
