Potteric Carr Nature Reserve的点评
点评：Went here with a friend yesterday which was our first visit to the reserve, and were very happy that they welcomed us in using our Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust memberships. Started off with a fabulous breakfast (thank heavens they serve black pudding on request!) . We were advised which routes to follow for what species or specimens we wanted to explore, and although I saw that they sold insect repellant (having forgotten to bring my own) I didn’t even realise I was getting bitten until I found a lump on my head later in the day 🫣 Personally, I got so much from the site; I wanted to find dragonflies, they were plentifully. Scenery, beautiful with good, well marked accessible paths. Facilities are single sex and I had no problem with this what so ever. Very clean with handwashing facilities inside each cubicle a real bonus. Watching a bird of prey glide gracefully down a pathway roughly 3 feet off the ground in front of us was magical. On our return at close to closing time, we had another coffee and cake, and I was delighted to be sat next to a no-smoking sign whilst outdoors. My friend watched a sparrow hawk land directly in front of a viewing area, and I delighted in rescuing a type of damselfly I had n it seen before. Really looking forward to a return visit later in the year, but if I was to criticise one thing, it would be the opening hours. I appreciate these places are run by volunteers, but it would be better if it was opened between maybe 8 - 5:30, rather than 9:30m- 4, which is a bit limiting when gates are being locked after us.
