Mawphlang Sacred Forest的点评
点评：The sacred forest is magnificent. The trees are as old as a thousand, and the part of the forest we can access as tourists has trees 400-500 years old.
It's affordable, and you learn a lot about the ingenious ways of the Khasi people with regards to medicinal herbs and relationship to Mother Nature.
The guide will tell you all about the role that the forest plays in the very existence of the tribe, the tribes in Mawphlang, the social structure of the Khasi community and family unit, marriages, the role of women and more, so it's a great way to ground yourself in this alternate physical reality, and be mesmerised while you're at it.
Admire, adore, touch, do not take anything. The guide will tell you plenty of real stories about the magnificent and sacred power of this forest.

in Mawphlang or elsewhere in Meghalaya, you need a taxi, you need help to make your travel plan, where to eat, how to get there on a budget, pretty much anything, Winning is the guy you want on your team and he will sort out your whole trip.
Get an umbrella. Always.
And eat Khasi food!!! It's FANTASTIC.
I personally highly recommend going alone to truly immerse yourself in the larger than Human world. I met many groups, and honestly they were doing the same thing they'd be doing in their home cities but in Nature. Don't waste this breathtaking beauty on loudness and music on speakers and alcohol etc.
