Good walk along a rugged coastal pathway
Promenade Dos Reis Magos的点评
点评：We walked along this coastal pathway a number of times during our stay at Hotel Riu Madeira from the 5th to 15th September.
There is access from the hotel on to the promenade via a key code gate.
It is a wide paved and concrete walkway that runs along the rugged coast at Caniço de Baixo. Part of the waterfront was flat terrain with stones and rocks, some people used these areas as a beach.
It stretches for about six hundred and fifty metres from the base of the steps leading to the ruins of Reis Magos Fort along to Praia do Reis Magos.
Part way along the promenade there is a narrow concrete jetty which juts out into the sea.
There are some permanently fixed exercise equipment along the way as well as a number of well established palm trees. As we approached Praia do Reis Magos there was a massage kiosk on the promenade.
Sometimes when the wind was blasting in off the Atlantic, it was a blustery and bracing place to walk along. A popular place with walkers and joggers.
When we were here in June 2021, it was not possible to walk the full length of the promenade due to buiding and improvement works.
When we returned in September 2023, the works were completed and we walked the length of the promenade.
