Great play, poor food service

点评：My two granddaughters, aged 6 & 8, had a wonderful time playing here, despite the eldest one, telling me on the way there that she thought she would be too old for it! I had to prise them away at the end of the session. There was masses for them to do in the well equipped and imaginative areas.
But the cafe area felt very cramped and there was a lot of jostling when people were trying to move about. Also, the toilet facilities are totally inadequate for the number of people.
The worst part was the food. There was no problem ordering but the wait was far too long. I ordered a Panini and two children’s lunch boxes.
My Panini came after about 20 minutes which was okay but there was no sign of the children’s food until nearly 3/4 of an hour after ordering, by which time I had eaten my lunch on my own. Considering that the only thing that had to be made were the sandwiches to go in the box, this is ridiculous. I’d asked three times what had happened to the children’s meals before they were eventually brought out.
As the session was nearing its end. One of the waitresses was coming around clearing the tables and I had to prevent her from removing the remains of the children’s drinks and half empty bags of crisps which they hadn’t finished with. She didn’t even bother to ask. And then she came back again when I wasn’t paying attention and she did take away half a bag of crisps. My granddaughter was very upset when she came back to the table and I told her what had happened in a loud voice which the waitress heard. To be fair, she went and fetched a new bag of crisps and gave them to my granddaughter, but why snatch things away in the first place? It’s just not necessary.
