Waldheim Chalet的点评
点评：This is a historic chalet originally built by the Weindorfers family in 1912. They occupied the chalet and were more or less stewards of the Cradle Mountain lands, playing a pivotal role in the establishment of a National Park here. Gustav Weindorfer was a famous guide in the park for many years as well. The chalet was an accommodation for visitors during the early years. It was demolished in 1976. What you see today is a replica of how it is believed to have appeared in 1932 when Gustav passed away.
You can reach the Waldheim Chalet by way of a short trail from the Ronny Creek Carpark, a popular shuttle drop-off/pick-up point. The trail is short and fairly easy with little ascension. You are quite likely to spot a wombat or two in the buttongrass plains nearby. There is a lovely stretch of forest filled with mature King Billy Pines next to the chalet as well. You can conveniently walk up and visit all in roughly 30-45 minutes.
