点评：Context: we are 3 adult Americans, fairly experienced travelers who speak English and some basic Spanish. We booked a 3-day vacation package through Panama Canal Tours, which included the full transit tour, a tour of the city and visitor center, transportation, and hotel.
The full transit was *amazing.* Yes it takes a long time: we left our hotel before 5 AM and got back around 6:30 pm. But if you have the time, money, and interest, I highly recommend the experience. Truly unique and unforgettable. Gabriel the narrator was excellent.
However, I have to recommend *against* booking a vacation package. I had to hound the company for weeks to get confirmation / bare minimum details of our reservation, after I had paid them almost $4000; they made mistakes booking our hotel, which caused some problems, and there were other minor issues as well. It worked out OK, but if I'm paying thousands of dollars to a company to organize my trip, I expect them to make my life easier, not harder.
If you speak English or Spanish, and can use the internet, then you can organize the exact same itinerary yourself more conveniently and cheaply. Book the canal tour separately. Book your own hotel. Take Uber to/from the airport and around town. Buy visitor center tickets online so you don't have to wait in line like we did. For a driving tour of the area, you can even hire your own guide directly (Alex Marriott did a good job for us: knowledgeable, accommodating, and always on time). Don't waste your hard-earned money on an ineffective middleman.
