点评:The Seymour Centre is a large performing arts centre with several theatres, located on the outskirts of the CBD, across the road from Sydney University.
It has been home to the enormously popular Wharf Revue show, an annual Sydney tradition. Sadly, after 25 years, the Revue run is coming to an end and 2024 will be the last one so we were keen to be there. As always, it was clever, funny and spot-on satire.
One of the things that I like about the Seymour Centre is that the theatres are quite small and intimate so there are not really any bad seats. Although our seats were near the back (Row L), we still had an excellent view of the stage and could easily see the actors faces and expressions. We didn’t miss a moment.
Another plus, is that parking is cheap and easy. Street parking in the area is limited (although not impossible) but the theatre’s underground parking is just $4 an hour.
The one drawback is that they have very limited on-site food/drink offerings. There is a bar but it is little more than a canteen and there’s nowhere nice to sit. Fortunately there are a couple of other options nearby. We head over to the lively Rose Hotel or the Duck Inn, both of which are only a few minutes walk away.
