Hickory Furniture Mart的点评
点评：Went to Hickory Furniture Mart to purchase some furniture for an addition to our vacation home. We went there on a weekday and it was not busy. We were not hounded by sales people and allowed to browse as we wished. Found that a lot of the furniture has a modern style, was nice, but we wanted something more transitional in nature. After going through many stores, we finally found what we wanted and ordered the furniture. We were advised that it would take 8-12 weeks for receipt of the furniture and then would need to make arrangements for delivery with a separate company, at a cost.
We were required to pay 1/3 of the total cost at order, not unusual. We received the call that our furniture has arrived but before they will release the furniture for shipment scheduling, we must pay the remaining balance. Again, not unusual. What IS unusual is that they will not take a debit or credit card (even the one used in the store at time of purchase) for the final payment. We have to MAIL THEM A CHECK for the balance. If we were local, we could drive over and present the check, but we are not local. We have mailed the check so it will be interesting to see how long it takes for receipt before we can schedule the delivery. We were advised that scheduling would take up to 2 weeks to contact us.
I truly hope the furniture is good and we are happy with it for all this monkeying around and waiting..
They really need to come into the current day and accept electronic payments. Sending a paper check via US mail is truly ridiculous.
