I want to caution anyone considering purchasing from Hickory Park, particularly when it involves Century Furniture. A major part of their sales pitch highlights Century's excellent customer service and American-made quality. Based on my experience, that promise falls short.
I purchased a chair for over $4,000. Just 2 ½ months after delivery, the mechanism began having issues. Century promptly sent a repair technician in February to diagnose the problem — but we are now months later, and the issue remains unresolved.
Hickory Park received the necessary part in April, but chose a low-cost shipping method that delays delivery until the middle of May. For a high-end furniture purchase, this level of service is simply unacceptable.
Everyone I spoke with at Hickory Park has been polite and professional, but they have been unable to provide any real solutions. I would gladly return the chair for a refund, but I had signed an agreement requiring I first allow them an opportunity to repair it — something I never imagined would drag on for over three months.
I am deeply disappointed in both Hickory Park and Century Furniture and would urge others to think carefully before making a purchase.
