Scenic viewpoint
High & Over的点评
点评：We parked at the High and Over car park (free) and wanted to see the Litlington White Horse.
The walk one way, is about 7 minutes at a gentle pace. You then reach a steep hillside. It is a stunning viewpoint, and you can look down over the Cuckmere Valley and the river below.
However, we could not see the Litlington White Horse properly, perhaps just a small part of it. Someone told us that we were actually above the horse, which made it impossible to see it in its entirety. May be a bit of the head.
I was told that the best way to see the White Horse is from down below, looking upwards at the hill. The hillside near the horse is quite high and steep, and it looked very steep to walk down. I suppose you could walk down the shallower side of the hill, but that looked like quite a long trek (may be 1hr?). It was not clearly marked and there didn't appear to be an obvious path. There were small goats on the hill with horns, unsure if they were friendly.
I would suggest doing a bit more research beforehand if seeing the White Horse is your main reason for visiting High & Over.
The key is to see the horse from far....
Aside from not being able to see the horse properly, the walk and the views were pleasant and well worth a stop. We were there for about 25 minutes, including plenty of time taking photos.
