Appalling afternoon tea - rip off

点评：We went as a party of five adults for 'afternoon tea', at a cost of £34 per head, We expected something special. Frankly we've had better service, seating and food from a supermarket cafe. And at a fraction of the cost.
What's good - Location/building is impressive
What's bad - Everything else is sub standard,
The afternoon tea for 5 was pre-ordered. Advising one person had a vinegar allergy, as well as generally to have no seafood sandwichs.
The person with the allergy was given a seperate plate, but sandwiches contained chutney, (had specified plain sandwichs) and within one bite became ill (Chutney has vinegar) This was replaced with an apology, replacement sandwichs brought back using same plate.
Many of the other sandwiches, for the other four guests, were seafood, despite the pre-order request - No seafood. So 3 people ended up eating next to nothing.
3 of us were squeezed onto a low 2 seater sofa, with a low coffee table, so very uncomfortable, eating off your lap.
Artisan teas were the only teas on offer, no breakfast tea or earl grey. If you wanted coffee, it cost extra and was served without a saucer .
Lack of customer service, no attention to checking everything is alright (but not surprising in hindsight, as they hadn't checked the pre-order details either)
The venue was very busy so service was terrible.
As someone else was paying we couldn't make a big fuss but I thought it was appalling and everyone was embarassed for the person who was treating us.
Left totally dissappointed - Avoid
