点评:Our trip to the Botanic Gardens was the highlight of our visit to Brasilia, a place which was otherwise depressing thanks to the horrible architecture and impersonal atmosphere with no handy corner shops, padarias, streets to wander in and any decent building to admire. It´s a bit out of town and the entrance is through a couple of kilometers of thick woodland but it´s worth the visit. I was taken immediately by the birdlife and never stop snapping. I barely paid any attention to the plants but my wife who knows a lot about botany was a bit disappointed by the lack of information and even volume of plant life. A center for orchids had virtually no identifications and represented only a fraction of the orchidea found in Brazil, she said. Some of the buildings need a lick of paint and upgrade and the cafe/restaurant is to be missed. Believe it or not it has a minimum wait of 45 minutes for an order. The place was empty when I was there during the week and I had to go into the reception to find out why it was taking half an hour to prepare two cheese and ham sandwiches. I hate to think what it would be like in busy periods. Take a picnic instead. Be warned that the Internet reception is poor and I would advise you to arrange for an Uber or taxi to pick you up at a certain time rather then just call. There are no main roads or public transport nearby and you could find yourself stuck.
