Great custom backpacking trip in Wrangell- St Elias!

点评：Two friends and I just finished a 6-day custom backpacking trip with Trek Alaska in a little-visited part of Wrangell – St Elias National Park, and had a great time. The guide was great, the food was very good and plentiful, the scenery was superb, and we had a lot of fun.
Anna, our guide, was terrific! She was very knowledgeable and at home in the Alaskan bush, and easy to get along with. We were all very experienced backpackers (much older than her), and she had a very good sense of when to involve us in decisions, and when she had to make them herself. I’ve been on several other guided trips, both in the U.S. and abroad, and this was definitely the most enjoyable. She’s also a great back-country cook.
Greg (the owner) did a great job organizing the trip. We couldn’t make any of Trek Alaska’s scheduled trips, so we worked out a custom one. Greg helped us select a route, made all the arrangements (including the bush plane flights), and answered all our questions. Working with him was very easy. He even set up a Zoom call beforehand with Anna and us to go over everything. His clothing and gear recommendations were spot on: I used everything I brought, but didn’t lack anything.
The trip was a little more expensive than a scheduled one, because we were only 3 people, but not by that much. Greg offered to post it on the website to get more people, but we declined.
I would definitely go on another trip with them.
Tip: If your trip involves bush plane flights, ask Greg to arrange for a little extra "flightseeing". The cost is low, and it's well worth it.
