点评:This was our second time visiting Porto Venere because we love it so much and wanted to share it with our family. First, take a walk through the “arch” that takes you to the busier commercial area (don’t let that word scare you) of this beautiful seaside town - you’ll find sample tastes of pesto (best I’ve ever had), really cute hats for when you forget yours, and a restaurant - Porto 82 - that serves the best fried shrimp (it was actually a mixed fried fish plate but we only wanted shrimp and they accommodated - with about 50 shrimp for 23 Euros! After lunch, mozie on down to the harbor and take a 2.5 to 3-hour boat ride (info@Barcaioli Portovenere.com - 35 Euros per person) to view this gorgeous town from the sea. You’ll have the opportunity to take a couple swims in the Ligurian, see WWII sites (a German pillbox still sits on top of one of the islands), the Church of St. Peter, the Doria Castle, and circle the islands of Palmaria and Tino, passing by a beautiful statue of the Virgin Mary in the middle of the sea. This town is known as the “sixth village of the Cinque Terre” but it sits south of La Spezia and has a totally different feel - less crowded and more wide open than the other villages. Highly recommend a visit to this beautiful town!
