点评:This was one of those surprising little gems that you find when travelling! Visited on the first day of the summer season, when the weather was (correctly) forecast to be rain all afternoon. Very welcoming staff explained about the museum setup and off we went. The ground floor is a potted history of the people of Kandersteg, the geography of the area, lots of artefacts and videos etc. Loved the charming approach and surprising facts. Look out for the film of the Lotschberg route with footage from 1909, displayed inside the 'tunnel'. Then upstairs to the cablecar museum which was of particular interest. Special mention for Hansruedi who initially claimed to have limited English but managed to explain in considerable detail the history and fabulous engineering of cable cars! Great fun to discover an older mini gondola from the Mannlichen which we recognised from a trip with our children many years ago. This is a brilliant little museum with enthusiastic and knowledgeable staff, we loved it!
