点评:We met at the sports centre, paid and were kitted out with life vest, oar and waterproof container for goods. Then we were driven to Pont D’Ouilly and launched our kayaks into the river. There were about 8 rapids to negotiate on our 12-13km trip down the river. That took about three hours. One spot we had to pull off and drag them around an easy dry run to avoid the hydro electric station and then we continued on down river. There were peaceful and relaxing sections where we could basically just float with the current and watch dragonflies and the surrounding farms passing by. The rapids were a minor challenge and not very dangerous but exciting all the same. We got thoroughly drenched on a couple so wear something that you don’t mind getting wet in. Shoes are necessary for the part where you have to hop out to drag the kayak around the hydro electric station. You could stop there for a picnic if you like, as you are out of the water, anyway. I would have appreciated just a little more guidance for how to approach the rapids, but we were fortunate to find a group of school kids and listened in on the instructors guiding them through the first rapids. After that, it was pretty easy. I did get quite sunburnt on the front of my legs as I forgot to apply sufficient sunscreen there. Just note that you need to cover up either clothing or sunscreen!
