British Normandy Memorial的点评
点评：When my friends and I visited, the Walking with Giants memorial display had been reinstalled to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the 1475 fallen British and 177 French marines that died on D-Day. Each figure represents one fallen soldier and remembers, 80 years on, the sacrifice they made.
The Memorial itself, is large but simple in design and records the names of the 22,442 servicemen and women under British command who fell on D-Day and during the Battle of Normandy in the summer of 1944.
It includes people from over 30 different countries. Inscribed in stone, the names were brought together overlooking Gold Beach. The site also has a French Memorial, dedicated to the memory of French civilians who died during this period. There is a large car park on site which has a small charge. It also has a small shop and cafe.
