Amazing workshop, tapas, show!

点评：Melody, one of the owners, put on a fantastic workshop that I attended a couple of weeks ago with some of my Spanish students. She gave us a hands-on introduction to several components of flamenco -- the palmas (clapping in rhythm), the cajón (wooden box drum), and some basic flamenco dance steps. Melody was amazing - my students talked for the rest of the tour about how much they enjoyed working with her!
After the workshop, we had dinner and front-table tickets for the show. The tapas we had were delicious--patatas bravas (potatoes with a romanesco sauce), tortilla española (thick Spanish potato omelet made in a cast iron pan), jamón and queso (Spanish ham and cheese), salad with bread, and calamares (fried squid).
When the show started, we were enthralled by the exquisite performances by the musicians and dancers (both owners of the tablao and guest artists). My students mentioned how they loved the intimate setting of the tablao and how they felt really connected with the performers.
I love flamenco, having seen many shows over the years and currently studying it...this was a special experience. I love that my students came away with a deeper understanding and appreciation for this beautiful and powerful art. ¡Olé!
