坦奇监狱教堂遗址的点评
点评：Going to a place like this it is hard to Imagion the life a convict may of lived. Here they have short movies to watch to help portray the harshness and reality of the life of a convict. The tour guide then was a wealth of knowledge as well. When going through the various rooms they portrayed the lives they lived whether it was going to court or walking the tunnels, being sent to solitary and seeing the actual confinement size of the room with some being smaller then some. The reinactment and creativity of using a picture frames when the convict came alive and told you of their life and why they were sent to Van Damon’s land. The short movie clip in the chapel it was all amazing and made it more realistic then just hearing the story as you could see it with your own eyes.
Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it. If you can only see one of the convict gaols or penitentiary I would highly suggest that this one would be the one to chose. I only wish I had more time to spend there as unfortunately I had another tour elsewhere so couldn’t hang around. To the tour guide who worked Saturday the 4 th of January at 10 am tour I take my hat off to you.
