点评:Before the guided tour began, we were invited to explore the 2 museum rooms that provided an introduction to the stories we were about to hear. The toilets were a highlight!
Our guide took us through the old chapel, showed us the solitary confinement cells and the exercise yard; he gave us a lot of background to the building's materials and methods as well as stories of the individuals involved (both convicts and administrators).
We walked around the site, into and out of buildings. Some parts were not easily accessible, but our guide made sure we were safe and there were adequate safety railings, handles and lighting (not suitable for wheelchairs).
It was most illuminating to sit in the various sections of the old Supreme Court, taking on the appropriate roles.
Overall, this tour was most informative and interesting. It left me with a deeper appreciation of this part of Hobart's history.
