Charged for tea bags

点评：This is a lovely country park which I have been to many times over the years. Visited yesterday with my husband and elderly mother. We went into the boathouse cafe and bought drinks and snacks. We bought two pots of tea, one each for my mother and me. The pots were quite big (3 cups out of each pot) but there was only one tea bag in each so the tea was extremely weak, more like tinted hot water. I politely asked if I could possibly have another tea bag in each tea pot as it was so weak and was told by staff that they couldn’t give the teabags, they would have to charge me. I was flabbergasted but asked how much and after a slight discussion between two staff members I was told 50 pence per bag. I grudgingly paid this but was very disappointed that this was the policy. I wondered if I would have been charged if I needed any extra milk!
It’s a pity that they used such large teapots. I don’t particularly like very strong tea but I do like some tea flavour in my hot water!
Other than this, the cafe is very nice with a reasonable range of food and drink on offer.
