Ruined by camper vans and rubbish

点评：My family is from Sanquhar and a lot of my childhood was spent playing in Mennock water and sliding down the hills in the pass. Sadly the whole place has been taken over by "wild campers" in vans who leave the pass looking like a dump.
There are burned patches where files have been lit, empty drinks cans and boules and a vast amount of rubbish.
Just where most of this camping takes place there was a small cross of pebbles indicating the spot where a local district nurse died in an accident in bad weather trying to get to one of her patients. The pebbles were replaced by a concrete cross marking the spot. I was horrified to see the spot had been desecrated by a fire at the side of it and dumped beer cans.
I hope the landowners start to crack down on this. The wind camping laws in Scotland allow camping in a tent, not a camper van and certainly not in the converted lorry that was parked up there recently.
