点评:We booked a kayak dolphin excursion hoping for an engaging and informative experience. While we saw some dolphins and appreciated the respectful approach (main reason why we booked this trip), the tour was severely lacking in guidance and engagement. The pre-trip briefing was basic, and once on the water, our guide offered very little commentary and no assistance. She paddled far ahead without checking on the group's ability to keep up. The breakfast stop in a stagnant, muddy river, under the blazing sun, was uncomfortable and showed a lack of consideration for the group (and we did follow the recommendation on wearing a hat and the suncream). It doesn’t hurt asking the group if the location was suitable. The guide displayed disinterest in sharing her knowledge, making the experience feel impersonal and rushed. The need to return quickly due to some other people pre-booked activities exacerbated the negative experience. This excursion did not meet the standards we anticipate from Le Routard recommendation.
My experience with outdoor excursions has taught me that a good guide makes all the difference. It's not about holding everyone's hand, but about creating an enriching and memorable experience: the experience could have been exceptional with a more attentive and engaged guide.
My intention in sharing my feedback is to clarify what future customers can expect from this activity. It's important for potential participants to understand that this is a largely self-guided experience, and that the guide's role is primarily supervisory, rather than actively engaging with the group to enhance their experience. FYI: I’ve shared this feedback in google and received a quite agressive answer from the owner, which I'm not surprised, considering the consistently aggressive replies they’ve given to anyone who dared to express dissatisfaction with the excursion, it tells you a lot on their business…
