点评:Among all the havelis in Jaisalmer, this one is the best and it happens to be the the most favorite tourist attraction after Jaisalmer Fort. It was built by Patwa brothers who were rich merchants dealing in gold and silver. It was built in 19th century and it took five decades to complete. It is made out out of yellow sandstone which is abundantly available in Jaisalmer. It is great piece of Rajputana and Mughal architecture. Beautiful carvings and ornate balconies are marvelous. There are three havelis together out of which one belong to Archaeological Department of India which has a museum displaying artefacts, paintings etc.
It's open from 8 AM to 5 PM and entry fee is Rs.25 for Indians and 100 for foreigners. It's better to take a guide along with you to understand everything. One can reach here either by walking or an auto riksha as cars can't enter narrow lanes. It is located about 500 meters from fort.
Not to be missed...
