Fantastic park and Victorian lighthouse!

点评：Beautiful, historic Victorian lighthouse and fantastic park and beach area - great spot to meander and explore. Possession Sound spreads out to the north and west sides of the park and is full of seals, sea lions, and sea birds of course.
The lighthouse was first lit in 1905 and was originally an oil lamp. But a fourth order Fresnel lens was eventually installed and is still in use here. Its signature signal pattern used to flash on for two seconds, then off for three. But an LED was installed some years ago and the new signature signal is now a flash every five seconds.
The lighthouse is small but there are several other buildings of interest such as the Keeper’s and Assistant Keeper’s houses - but the buildings are open only seasonally. The park seems to be open year round and still well worth the visit.
The grounds and buildings are well maintained and beautiful. There are lots of info signs around the grounds and you can even do a self guided walking tour. There are some very flat and easy hiking trails circling the lighthouse and the beaches along the sound. The beaches have fire pits.
There are decent bathrooms in the parking area. Parking is paid and we paid $3 for one hour (not sure the daily max). We were able to explore enough within our hour - but if the buildings were open it would definitely take longer.
