点评:Tuesday 12th September and we took a stroll along the beachfront promenade in Machico. Along the promenade there are two beaches which are so different in styles and makeup.
This Beach is typical of beaches on Madeira, it comprises of pebbles, stones and not much glamour. It is definitely the poor relative of the two beaches, this rocky beach does not stand a chance when compared with the other, Praia de Machico and its golden sand.
Maybe it was the time we were here, the end of the summer season perhaps but there was not much happening on the beach.
There were a handful of people here lying out on old wooden pallets along the beach, that had seen better days.
At one end of the beach is the Ribeira da Machico estuary and bridge and Capela de Sao Roque is at the other.
