杯面博物馆的点评
点评：Located in Yokohama, the 5-floor museum is dedicated to the history of instant ramen noodles and the inventor Momofuku Ando who established Nissan Food Products. After inventing Chicken Ramen in 1958, he continued his inventions with the creation of Cupnoodles, and Space Ramen. Admission to only the museum is 500 yen. but is an additional 500 yen if you choose to make your own cup of noodles. During the process of creating your own cup, you will mix the ingredients, roll out the noodles, and choose your spices. Dropping the noodles into the hot oil is done by the employees. The wait time for the factory was over 60+ minutes.
I chose to visit only the museum. The “Instant Noodles History Cube” is basically wall upon wall of the instant noodles starting with Chicken Ramen and shows over 3,000 product packages and is located on the 2nd floor. It was a bit overwhelming to see most of these products on display. Also, there’s a cartoon-like short movie about how the hoe Momofuku invented ramen as well as a replica of little shed.
There are many items and products for sale in the museum shop and that seemed to be popular for both locals and tourists. The Food Noodles Bazaar eatery offers one the opportunity to taste noodles from around the world.
I am glad I chose to visit just the museum rather than wait for an open time slot. There are a good number of stairs to climb to the museum, but an elevator is available for those with mobility issue. It was interesting to see the number products resulting from Momofuku’s original noodles with hot water. Overall, I think this would be a great budget-friendly activity for families.
