Another a bit overhyped stop in Madeira

点评：I think social media made this place a bit more that it actually is... yes it is a nice place in general as it's on the "rooftop of Madeira" so anything at this altitude while driving around is pretty scenic... but to hear some people saying they came back here 2-3 times just to experience it in a fog... come on... we visited in May and got lucky with the sunny weather so we could actually see it in full perspective - it was great.
When we visited in December it was completely fogged up - I found that silly that people actually pursue this weather here... you can't see even 25% of what it has to offer and it looks with the fog as "any other mysterious forest" during fog time...
There are various parking areas and from there you can just take a short walk - this is a nice area of Madeira, as like I said it's an alternative to the coastal road and also the one that goes through the valley of the island in the middle, so this is THE ROAD THAT TAKES YOU UP HIGH and everything here is above the clouds - for that in itself is a worthy stop and a drive to take, the trees... as amazing as they are I think are a bit blown out a bit on the internet... so if you set your expectations right you will not get disappointed
