点评：Driving up to this vineyard from Taoramina was part of the experience for me. It is just amazing scenery around every hairpin turn, from breathtaking vistas to quaint little towns, just endless beauty.
The 400+ year old grounds are unique in their geography and construction and have been carefully maintained by the Planeta family with a thoughtful and modern environment that is suitable for the contemporary traveller.
We were guided around the grounds by our host Miriam, who was knowledgeable about the vineyard's history and of their current production methods. Miriam took us through the built stone pathways and discussed, in a fair amount of detail their current grapes. She was kind enough to point out particularly beautiful spots for photos, even taking pictures of couples.
The tasting of five wines with five complimentary bites was done in the main building in a room to the side that comfortably fit the ten people present for the 11 am time slot. We tasted wines from all their different Sicilian vineyards. There was a good variety of flavor between the wines, ranging from bright and floral to rich and deep. The food choices allowed the wines to showcase their ability to transform and enhance both their flavors and the food's flavors.
They also made it very simple to buy the wine and have it shipped to our home in the US.
Overall, this was a wonderful way to spend our early afternoon with some wonderful people and food and most importantly, wine.
