点评：We are veteran travelers...having experienced coastal retreats, beaches and everything in between. This experience, and I say this because it was much more than a vacation, ranks up amongst the very best.
The PROPERTY: Well cared for and clean. You would think there would be a lot of bugs (and big ones...after all, this IS Texas)...and there was...but the ones that would bother you were all for naught. The Welcome Center is open from 8-5, but if you have an issue, they have a rep on property.
The STAFF: Friendly, polite and VERY knowledgeable. You ask a question, have a concern...and they have the answer. They afford you plenty of opportunities to interact with the animals (giraffes, rhinos and the sloth), with feedings (treats) 3 times a day and other activities. There is plenty of time during the late morning and evening to enjoy the sights in Texas wine country.
The ROOM: If you looked at the picture on their webpage, it does not do justice. The room is large and, well, amazing! In the room there is a microwave and coffeemaker, with their fresh-ground signature coffee. All utensils are provided. The refrigerator is stocked with reusable water bottles already filled. On your first morning, they serve a breakfast basket that is stocked with 2 days of food: bananas, fruit yogurt, breakfast bars, milk, orange juice, fruit chips and these amazing muffins. They supply extra bedding, terry cloth robes and plenty of towels. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash and body lotion are also supplied. There is a deck where you can watch the animals, but in no way are you permitted to feed or make contact with them.
HINTS: Avoid Mondays and Tuesdays as most of the restaurants and wineries are closed on those days. The 2-bedroom suites are closer to the Welcome Center and afford more viewing of the animals...they tend to congregate closer to the Center.
