The Secret Waterfall的点评
点评：How has donegal got so many absolute gems in the one county. Another absolute belter of mother nature at work. Loved photographing this place. If you get this place to yourself it's so serene so enjoy it but because it's popular that can only mean one thing it fills up with other eager onlookers.
Now the to and fro from this location. There is a viewing point just up the road from the entry point that you can park usually and coffee van there as well. Or if that's full there is a Small pull in but don't be that guy that blocks the house entry exit point. Seen this couple try to just park their car on the side of the road despite plenty of places as described above.
So you have to cross private land to get here but there is a gate and a pathway. Though I don't know the owner they seem quite happy for people to use this way so close the gate after you and stick to the path and leave no rubbish trace and it will continue.
Do not attempt this trip at anything other than low tide. The cave itself where the waterfall is uses the same entry exit point you don't want to be caught in here.
The trip should really only be made if mobility issues are not a concern for you. As it's a 15-25 min walk from roadside to cave firstly on a steady downward path then over loose unsteady ground. Because it's a seaside location some of that ground is covered in moss making it potentially slippery. When you pass by the loose stone rocks and gravel you have to climb up and down over much larger rocks. Some of them quite big but again some are slippery.
The day I was there I seen a girl attempting this in crocs yes you read that right 🥷
Also take in to your equation you then have to do it all coming back. I noticed quite a few people on the way back up on the path heavy breathing and some having to stop and rest for a bit. Which is totally understandable which ever works for you but always choose safety first.
