点评：The Northwest tip of the island is SPECTACULARLY scenic as the fury of Mother Ocean crashes into the volcanic cliffs. It was a Red flag day when we went, but justifiably so as the seas were 10 on a scale of treacherous. The Blue eye CAN be seen in winter, albeit only at midday and its only partial but the color is still impressive. But the reason to come here is to the LEFT of the chasm (Blue eye and the crowds are on the right). The Jardim das Ilhas is brilliant and empty. Our guide gave us the heads up and he was SO right.
Bring a picnic lunch, go before noon, and you'll be ALONE at the pavilion. Interesting museum (free) downstairs of the pavilion. There is a large garden of the various islands in Cape Verde in the shapes of the islands and with their indigenous vegetation marked. The videos are even more impressive.
