点评:My wife and I were on holiday in Sal Cape Verde. We decided to take a trip to a local town named Santa Maria as there was a minibus laid on from our hotel. When we arrived at Santa Maria, a man came up to us and told us he was security from our hotel and he would show us around. He did this for about 10 minutes as Santa Maria is a large town, then came the worst part of his con, he took us to 'his mother's shop' and we felt obliged to buy something, it was a turtle with a map of Cape Verde on and as it had no price on any stock, he charged us €25 , we didn't really have that kind of money but we paid and left. This was quite harrowing but what made it worse was the fact that the same turtle was €5 in a supermarket along the road. This spoilt what was a great holiday. When we got back to our hotel we told staff and they said it was a common occurrence. We hadn't been warned by TUI rep or staff who did apologise but the deed was done. We wanted other tourists visiting Santa Maria to be made aware of this practice. As well as you can't go 10m without vendors trying to get you into their shops and get called names etc if you don't, but after our 1st experience we were very guarded and didn't enter any at all. Tourists Beware!
