点评:This is a newer museum as it opened up in 2021. We spent about three hours here and while that was enough to see the essentials, you could easily spend more time if you take advantage of the tours and other events they offer. It is right next door to the massive Chickasaw Nation resort. Parking is $10, but the guard was nice enough to waive us through, so we did not have to pay.
There are two main levels to the museum, and the majority of the first floor can be difficult to get through as it goes through their very tough history, and it is heartbreaking with all the problems they had to endure. Once you get through that portion, the mood does lighten as they go into their traditions and how they live today. The second floor has a good number of artifacts and not as much content on the first floor.
There is a restaurant, but we did not go in and but we did go through the gift shop and there are plenty of options if you are interested. The only minor disappointment was we visited on a Sunday, and they have a small building for a hall of fame, and it was closed. Despite that, I would still recommend as it is important to learn all of the US history, all good and bad.
