Guildford Cathedral的点评
点评：We were doing some touristy things in the local area. We have a long term goal of visiting all the cathedrals in the UK, so added Guildford to our list.
I have to admit on doing some research beforehand, I wasn’t expecting much. It’s not your traditional, old, stone built cathedral in the middle of a bustling local community.
But, I couldn’t have been more wrong. As we drove towards it, we saw this imposing cathedral dominating the skyline, built on a hill to add to its presence. On arrival, we found a free 2hr car park. (How many cathedrals have that!). We went inside to realise that they had laid on some children’s half term activities. But we hadn’t booked in advance, no problem. We were welcomed into this bustling local community, I was sure didn’t exist up on the hill. Our 7yo was able to take park in 4 different craft activities and listen to a story, all manned by the friendly volunteers.
This must be the most child friendly and welcoming cathedral we have visited. Special mention to the volunteers manning the craft activities on Wednesday 19th feb for making our visit special.
