点评：I live in Bishop and had been several times before so I was keen to bring visitors to this incredible gallery. Unfortunately the experience was all but ruined by the behaviour of the guides. They are like five year olds who just learned something new at school and absolutely have to tell everyone, interested or not. It is impossible to communicate to them that you just want to be left alone to contemplate the experience. On one floor that we entered there were two guides (and two of us) one of whom immediately moved ahead of us and the other shadowed our movements from behind us as if they were expecting to foil us in our attempt to steal one of these paintings … completely unnecessary and completely rude. By all means have the artwork guarded but perhaps being less hostile about it. As for the endless army of guides, instead latching on to someone and boring them with the endless trivia maybe take a breath and wait to be approached, as excellent as the gallery and Castle are these are by no means a cheap experience, which is severely marred by this cloying unpleasant behaviour … on of these characters even chased through the Castle to tell us who had made the replica carpet in the throne room, despite the fact that we had not enquired about the carpet, were not interested in the fabricators of the thing, in fact he was fixated on this detail having been asked about it at some time in the past and decided that anyone who stood still long enough to be trapped by him was jolly well going to know this utterly useless fact whether they wanted to or not. If this level of arrogance is something you can tolerate then the gallery is worth a visit, but these guides ruined the experience for me and my visitor today.
