Castine Touring Company ("scarlett")的点评
点评：Lovely! This is the first visit to Maine for my 14-year-old son, 12-year-old daughter, 82-year-old mother-in-law, hubby & me. We wanted to explore some of the smaller, mid-coast villages and Castine did not disappoint. The golf cart (Scarlett) tour was a wonderful way to see the town. Our guide was Roberta - she was very pleasant & knowledgable. We all loved the scenery (bonus that it was amazing Maine weather- blue skies & mid-60s temps). My son loved some of the military history, my daughter was charmed by the fact everyone in the town seems to know one another- all being friendly and saying hello to Roberta & us as we rode by. It was an absolutely charming experience! Don't miss if you're in the area!
**NOTE: As other posters have noted, this is a volunteer-run organization that operates off of donations. We showed up at the parking lot at about 9:40 AM and the sign indicated they would be back at 10. I realized that this was an estimate- not a hard, fast deadline & I set my expectations accordingly. The cart was back a few minutes after 10- and off we went. There were a couple of groups waiting when we returned a little after 11... I don't know how/ if/ when they managed to get the different groups in. I do know that the cart only holds 5 passengers- which was perfect for our group. I recommend having a flexible, easy-going attitude and/ or being prepared to wait. That said if you can be flexible & time it right, it's well worth it. A beautiful, relaxing way to see Castine!
