Our second home in Mountain Air brings us to this beautiful part of North Carolina several times a year, but what we encountered at Smithmore Castle was nothing short of extraordinary.
Let's start with the food – North Carolina, as beautiful as it is, hasn't always been known for its culinary offerings. That was until we came to Smithmore. This was not just another meal – it was a gastronomic journey. The dining experience here is on an entirely different level, surpassing anything we’ve experienced across continents. From the first bite, we knew we were in for something truly special.
The service? Well, it is unlike anything we've experienced in America. Impeccable, polished, and entirely genuine, the staff at Smithmore Castle treat you not as guests, but as part of the family. Every need is anticipated before you even think to ask.
And then there's the view. Words can barely do it justice – we spent hours on our private balcony just taking in the breathtaking vistas, feeling like we were on top of the world. It’s a rare combination of serenity and grandeur that transports you somewhere almost magical.
While we were only able to stay for two nights due to ongoing work at our home following the hurricane, the experience was so exceptional, it feels as though we’ve been transported into another world. It’s a bucket-list destination for a reason – there’s no place like it.
Now, every time we visit the area, dining at Smithmore Castle will be a must. It’s not just a place to stay – it’s an experience to savor. In fact, if we ever want to entertain guests, we’ll book a private dining experience here. It’s truly that remarkable.
