WAY BEYOND EXPECTATIONS
Smithmore Castle的点评
点评：We were there for a tour and dining experience. I expected it to be unique and fun but this experience exceeded all of my expectations. We were met at the front of the castle by their footman Braddford. I gave him my key and stepped into an elegant lobby with two couples also attending. We were offered a beverage and we chose the champagne which was excellent. Then we started a tour of all of the rooms in the castle narrated by a very knowledgeable young man who explained how you get to be a castle as well as the history of this Castle. He was entertaining and invited questions. The rooms were elegant and got more so as you moved up the floors. Two rooms on the third floor offered balconies with a view that was indescribable. Definitely where I will want to stay when I return.
Next we had Charcuterie beautifully served with a glass of the best Pinot Noir I have ever tasted. We had planned to sit outside but the wind brought us in to a plesant area with the same gorgeous views as the third floor rooms. The atmosphere was serene and very peaceful. The energy in the entire castle was spiritual in nature calling me to return in the very near future. It is the type of place where you can simpy sit and absorb the beauty of nature around you.
Dinner was the crowning glory of this entire experience. We had the most delicious seabass as our main course and it along with the accompaniments, first course of ravioli in a delicious sauce and a dessert of bourbon pistachio creme bulee and coffee completed our meal. The service was beyond anything I have ever experienced with Braddford leading the team. I left feeling on top of the world which I had indeed been.
If you are contemplating an experience at this castle do not hesitate, GO. It is worth every penny.
